Werremeyer Creative recently hired a new Creative Director in Steve Hartman. Steve’s 20-plus years of experience include a variety of roles, such as creative director, entrepreneur, published author, and even an amateur chef.
Steve’s dynamic portfolio of design work has been recognized by HOW Magazine, Communications Arts, Print Magazine, Graphic Design USA, and several other publications. Steve has submissions in the National Design Archives at the Denver Art Museum and he has been published in a handful of books on design. His work has won numerous awards at design competitions, including AIGA St. Louis, the Communications Arts Design Annual, HOW Magazine’s International competition, and Print Magazine’s regional annuals.
Steve has shared his advocacy for design and creativity by serving on several boards of organizations locally and nationally such as AIGA, The Professional Association for Design. He has taught courses on design and visual communications at Washington University in St. Louis, Maryville University, University of Missouri – St. Louis, and Webster University.
In his spare time, the accomplished designer and Edwardsville native can be found painting or cooking for his three active boys and his wife Shawna. Oh, and he’s building a man cave in his basement for his sons.
On Steve’s first day at Werremeyer Creative, he surprised our whole staff with custom-branded notebooks (below), each hand-printed with our signature “WE” logo. Steve’s thanks-for-having-me gifts are reflective of the personalized service he provides his clients every day — a large part of why we brought him aboard.
“Steve’s selfless attitude and personable disposition fit seamlessly within our office dynamic. Werremeyer goes above and beyond to tend to the little details of our business relationships, just as Steve does” says Werremeyer Creative president and CEO, Gretchen Land.
Steve’s extensive career experience and distinct ability to make friends everywhere he goes make him an all-star acquisition to the Werremeyer Creative team. We’re happy to work with someone with a multitude of industry connections and resources to assist our agency in its continued growth.
